I might have missed your birthday (again) or mess up the dates (again) but this post is truly a reflection of what I feel about you, Mehdi.

Or as I coined it once, Mehdipedia.

From intricate memes to extreme sense of humor, our long held friendship that stood a test of time, space, several countries and distance - emotional and physical - yet, continues.

With every song you share, with every video you put out there on Instagram, with every likeyou give to my posts or random check-ins and debates you sometimes do with me, you tap into my heart.

Baba.

Who’d new than casual interpals communication will get us that far, huh? But not for Dostoevsky and mushishi, Radiohead and Sigur Ros on your profile, perhaps, we’d never have met. Online.

Cause we are yet to meet in person!

I know you’d tell me “This is all bullshit” couple of years back, but somehow, you don’t anymore - and I wonder if this is a sign of you maturing and letting people believe in their BS…

Well, cause maybe, I am a believer.

Yet, you allowed me to read your natal chart and I recall us laughing about it just like we did upon our first conversation when you jokingly called me an asshole.

I know I am.

But you are… a beautiful, wonderful soul, Mehdi.

Your mind and heart hold such a huge volume of information - factual and fictional, scientific and artistic, technical and abstract… it is incredible.

You truly are a Mehdipedia - for me to ask you for a movie or a book, or

music recommendation would be a easier and faster way to discover something good that going about it chaotically in my own, weird Aquarius rising way. (Actually, I just trust the algorithms).

But there is an undeniable, gentle, kind, sensitive part of you which I hope one day will be truly appreciated by the world - no matter which - scientific, as you accomplish your PhD, financial - as you make fortunes on stock market, or artistic - as you keep creating content combining things you love: art, music, movies and philosophy.

Yours is a very contrasted inner world. But you have an abundant imagination and let in the fantasy every now and then. A blue bird in your soul deserves to fly freely and enjoy sining high in the skies, free from fear, pain, wounds of the past and loneliness.

Whether you accept it as essential darkness to your light, however, I hope if I could do one thing for you - with this post and overall, through our friendship - is to remind you to enjoy the sweet in the bitter-sweet mix of chocolate box called life.

And I know you are doing that.

Perhaps, when nobody’s watching or reading Mehdipedia.
